No matter what, I am a Navy Mom. No matter how proud I am of my "Sailor", I am also always a little apprehensive when he has to "ship out". This week, he shipped out on an airplane, instead of on a big carrier, and next week, he may be in another - other country. He's somewhere this week, and we don't know how long he will be there...but we have to be patient.

It's hard. He loves his life, most of the time. He lives for the adventure, but this is the first time he's been deployed since he became a daddy, and I know that has to be harder on him than just leaving his mother or even when he left his first wife - I think leaving her was actually an easy thing to do. Ultimately, it may have saved his life.

Now, he has a wife who loves him and has made me a GraMary. I am anxious for him to return home, so we can all have a reunion and I will get to hold that Grandson for the first time! Hawaii is a wonderful, but distant place to have my family.
