H.V. Rhodes wrote August 1864 a Civil War Naval Adventure.

The historical novel is an exciting dramatization based on historical documentation and factual events that occurred during the month of August 1864, when the Confederate ship Tallahassee captured more than 30 enemy ships. But more than an accounting of historical facts, August 1864 takes readers onboard and in the sleeping quarters of sailors on Confederate and Union ships alike. By clever use of dialogue and narrative as well as ships' logs, the author adds political intrigue and conversations that might have taken place in private homes and public offices across the country during the war between the states. His realistic scenes transport readers to a place in time where manners and decorum were as important as a man's word.

It's a must-read for history or civil war buffs.
